Cross Thames and enjoy Party

  • Five men and five boys have to cross over the Thames River to attend a birthday party. They have only one small boat with them. Due to small size of the row boat, the boat can not carry more than one man, or more than two boys. Thus, a man riding with a boy would not be possible. What would be the least number of boat trips that would take everyone to the other shore?

Read my next post for the Right Answer of this Question:

  • Right Answer of the last asked Question is here:

Mrs. Blair has four children, there names are Andy, Grant, Mark, and Crag.

    Facts:

Two years ago, Andy was twice the age of Mark.

Four years ago, Grant was twice the age of Mark.

Two years from now, Andy would be twice the age of Crag.

Three years ago, Mark was twice the age of Crag. Mrs. Blair's current age is the sum of all her children's current age. Now find all five people Age?

Carefully read this age situation every year by year.......

    2 years ahead: Andy’s age 14, Grant’s age 12, Mark’s age 9 and Crag’s age 7

    1 year ahead: Andy’s age 13, Grant’s age 11, Mark’s age 8 and Crag’s age 6

    NOW: Andy’s age 12, Grant’s age 10, Mark’s age 8 and Crag’s age 5

    Last year: Andy’s age 11, Grant’s age 9, Mark’s age 7 and Crag’s age 4

    2 years Ago: Andy’s age 10, Grant’s age 8, Mark’s age 6 and Crag’s age 3

    3 years Ago: Andy’s age 9, Grant’s age 7, Mark’s age 5 and Crag’s age 2

    4 years Ago: Andy’s age 8, Grant’s age 6, Mark’s age 4 and Crag’s age 1

So Current ages are as under:

    Andy 12, Grant 10, Mark 7, Crag 5.

Mrs. Blair's current age is 34 which the total of the ages of the 4 children, 12+10+7+5=34.
